Upgrade iPhone 6 to iPhone 8 ?

I'm on the fence if I should upgrade my launch day 64Gb iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8 or try and wait it out for another year.

Phone works but the volume up rocker needs to be pushed really hard to work and I find the headset mics and speakers don't work as well as they did when I first got the phone maybe clogged?

Anyways I was hoping for the iPhone X to be the phone to upgrade to but after he rumours and then the reveal today , I have no interest in that phone without Touch ID and the crazy price!

Just the $929 CAD for the 64Gb iPhone 8 is steep , waiting to see 2yr contract pricing for the device and I could probably get $200-$300 for my iPhone 6 I would guess.

Who else is planning on upgrading from a iPhone 6 ?
 
I think That will be substantial upgrade from your iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8. You're talking over three generations of iPhones of physical changes, capabilities and processing power.
 
With the same (boring) iOS I don't see any reason to upgrade to iPhone 8 which costs a much money and has a over older design. It is for me not worth to spend so this money considering that in a 1 (2? sure 3!) years the phone will look just OLD); actually, it looks old already now IMHO.

I have the iPhone 6 too.
 
My iPhone 6 (64GB) is feeling a bit slow and short of space. I’m thinking a 128GB iPhone 7 will be enough of an upgrade and save me £200 over a 256 GB iPhone 8.

Processor speed for games and wireless charging aren’t really an appeal. X just looks weird with it’s cut out over media.
 
I have a black iPhone 6 64gb, which I got on launch day. I've just ordered a rose gold 128gb iphone 7. I wasn't impressed enough by the 8 and definitely wasn't going to pay through the nose for the X.

I'm surprised, because I expected to want the 8, but I like the rose gold and without a 128gb option for the 8, the decision was fairly easy.

The 7 will last me a couple of years and hopefully by then, Apple will produce something I want more.
 
I really want the X but I can't justify the cost and I'm hoping that apple come to their senses next year and make the X their standard model. Perhaps that is why they have bumped the price of the 8. Next year the plus sized X will replace the 8 plus and the X will replace the 8.

I'm just going to pick up a cheap 7 and use that until apple stops asking me to bend over to get a modern phone that is equivalent to the offerings from Samsung and co.

Is the only thing you care about how your phone looks? Because the specs and capabilities of the X are basically the same as the 8, it's just a better display. So the X may look new longer, but they will reach obsolescence at the same time.
 
Seems a lot of people are considering the iPhone 7 for price and storage size lol

Sucks they removed the red finish!

Its $200 for a better screen, a much nicer form factor (8 physical size with 8+ screen size), dual OIS cameras, better front camera and the sensors at the front that will allow developers to do some cool stuff rather than ****** animojis.

The 8 is awful value in my eyes.

We value different things, but I can see where you're coming from.
