Hey guys, I think it is time to upgrade my MacBook Pro.
I have a mid 2009 configuration: 2.53 GHz Dual Core Intel processor, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA 9400 (256MB), and 250GB HDD.

I am planning to upgrade to an SSD and 8GB RAM.

Can you intelligent MacRumor readers tell me:
A) The best sub-$400 SSD that is over 100GB
and
B) The best sub-$200 8GB RAM sticks for my MBP. Requirements are

  • 30mm
  • 4 GB
  • DDR3
  • 204-pin
  • PCE-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz type RAM

Thanks :)

B - There are no 204-pin SO-DIMM 8GB RAM sticks, 4GB is the maximum. You can get two 4GB sticks for 180 USD here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... 600032319&IsNodeId=1&name=For Apple Notebook

A - I don't know about SSDs though, but NewEgg or MacSales has quite some offerings and maybe even MRoogle can help.

@ mrsir2009: Come again please? Isn't the OP asking for advice on upgrading the RAM and storage unit? Or was that a slight at the less descriptive thread title?
