Upgrade MBP mid-2009 Wifi/Bluetooth for Handoff Possible?

I see that it's possible to upgrade the wifi/bluetooth card in 2011 MBPs. I'm wondering if this is possible with the 2009 version?

I checked ifixit and it appears that the 2012 MBP uses the same size card as the 2009.

I do not believe it is possible.

As far as I'm aware, it was possible (certainly for the early 2011 Macbook Pro), but Apple have nixed it. Even if you put the correct chip in, if your model's identifier puts it out of compatibility, then you won't get the function. Which is ********.

That bug has been fixed, it doesn't matter which chip you put in your 2011 MacBook Pro it doesn't recognise handoff anymore.

It really isn't a big deal anyway...
