Upgrade Older Macbook Pro like the Mac Pro 5,1

my buddy bought a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 and upgraded it. It is actually a pretty beastful machine for the money in it. That being said, is there an older mbp model we can upgrade cpu ram and ssd in? Maybe even gpu?
