Hey guys,

Bit of a lame question I know, but how do you upgrade the OS X to 10.4?

She has a G4-700 imac and wants to upgrade some of her software which is only supported by 10.4. Is it just a matter of installing the new OS X from the discs that came with my ibook?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

No, you'll need to buy a copy from Apple or Amazon, restore disks from other computers won't work. Though installing a new version of OS X is really easy, you just put the disk in and follow through the on screen instructions, if you choose an upgrade or an archive and install your applications/user settings will continue to run, it's a lot easier than with Windows.

Might be worth keeping in mind 10.5 will be released in October if she wants to be completely up to date. So spending £70 on 10.4 now it'll be out of date within the next 4 months.

Upgrade OS X 10.3 to 10.4

Hi there
Another lame question.
Is there any way of upgrade to 10.4 without erase and lose all of the mails, adress, ical calendars and bookmarks?

I have a PowerBook G4 with OS X - 10.3.9.

Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks
