Carrier Upgrade program UK question

Managed to see an iPhone 7 plus today (UK). Went through all the text verification and reservation code stuff but then when I clicked confirm registration it took me to the usual page of not taking reservations right now. What happened? Did someone beat me to it?

Its not a case of someone beating you to it. It's open to everyone.

The IPhone upgrade programme is only available in an Apple Store.

You'll need to take these items with you to sign up:

Your personal information and bank details.
You will be asked to provide your date of birth, employment details, and UK home address/es from the last three years for a credit check. You will also need your bank account number and sort code to set up a direct debit.

A valid photo ID.
Make sure you bring along your UK driving licence, or passport.

Your current mobile phone.
If you’re upgrading from another iPhone, remember to back up your data to your computer or iCloud. You’ll also want to take note of your Apple ID. If you’re upgrading to your first iPhone, one of our Specialists can help you transfer all your data with the Move to iOS app.

Its not a case of someone beating you to it. It's open to everyone. Did you try again? If you tried on your phone, try on a PC

I think it's a case of someone beat you to it I'm afraid, I was in the same boat a few times.

Bit confused by the text verification and reservation code stuff though, once you have reserved an iPhone to pick up in-store for the iPhone upgrade program it will take you to a confirmation screen and then you'll also receive the confirmation by email - I never went through any of that code stuff?

yea i had to text a number to get a reservation verification code, never had to do that before either. I am in the UK though maybe it's different?

In my experience, whenever it has said "We're not taking any reservations now" that means someone else reserved it before you, because I've had that screen so many times and on my successful confirmation I didn't get that screen. So I'm guessing you're being beat to it.

so im a lucky guy. Checked upgrade program link at lunch time today.....and there was a 128gb 7 plus in jet black, needless to say I instantly reserved it and boom, got it! just got home now and opened it up, thing of beauty!
