Upgrade Question (AT&T)

Hi all,

I do not have an upgrade for my cell phone since I got the 4S in January, but my mom (who's on the same plan as me,) does have an upgrade. How can I pre-order it with her upgrade, but MY number? I don't want to have to go to AT&T back and forth to get the micro sim.

I spoke to an AT&T rep yesterday about this. She told me that if there's a phone on my family plan that's eligible for an upgrade, I can use that upgrade on my number (which is not yet eligible) and let my kid languish for another year or two. Because that's the kind of parent I am

You're going to have to go to AT&T if you preorder on her line. When you get the phone, don't turn it on, and go to AT&T and tell them you're doing an upgrade swap, they'll help you out with the sims.

You and I will have to go through AT&T, who has not yet announced preorder timing.
