I'm on a family plan, and my phone doesn't have much left. Best buy has the 16 gb black waiting for me. I preordered the white 32 so I'm wondering if this is possible.
Buy the 16 tomorrow, Renew my line (line 1).
When the white becomes available, purchase the 32 for 299 by renewing another line 2.
Cancel the data plan and iPhone fees on this line 2, use white iPhone on my line 1.
I've heard it called an upgrade swap, but wanted to make sure it would still work with the original line being renewed a month earlier. Line 2 has no interest in a data plan or smartphone.
