Upgrade question - would this work?

So I let my patience get the best of me and upgraded last month to the iPhone 3g. In order to get the iPhone 4, I would have to pay full price. Would I be able to upgrade my boyfriends phone to the iPhone (he is on my plan) and when I got home just put my sim in the new iPhone and let him go back using his old phone? Or could I just tell the AT&T rep that I want to use his upgrade for myself?

Is that at all possible or is it more complicated than that?

if he is on your plan it doesnt matter but the data plan may be an issue. also,if you bought the 3g in the last 30 days just return it and get the new one on the 24th.

By the time the iPhone 4 comes out I'll be past the 30 day mark by around 20 days give or take.

With the data issue, can't I just go online and cancel then plan?

take it back before the 30 days is up, and just use a different phone for a few days!
