Upgrade questions?

I just lost my cell phone, and want to upgrade to a iPhone 3g. I am on an att family talk plan with 4 other phones. However, MY number is not upgradable until december. Can I use the upgrades from one of the other numbers that is available and keep my number on the iPhone by getting a new sim or something?

yes. just call the ATT store before going in and confirm. all ATT stores can do it, some just make it complicated for no reason. just tell them that you want to upgrade the other line, but have the iphone on your line with the data on your line. good luck

Now the next question is can I do it by going to an Apple store, I can get a phone right away local at a retail outlet but att told my girl friend 2 weeks before they could get her an iPhone....

Well when I was in line at the apple store to get mine the person in front of me was doing that and didn't seem to have any trouble upgrading.
