Okay so I got the 3G and the 3GS both on launch date and I don't remember ever having to pay the non-upgrade fee, but I read in this Gizmodo article that "If you are an existing iPhone user, the early upgrade will cost you $399 and $499. ". Is this correct? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I only had to pay the same price as people without a contract ($199 and $299) did since I'm upgrading from a previous iPhone like I have done every other time a new iPhone is released, and I don't ever remember having to pay more than them.

Also, I realize this may be a dumb question, but on Apple.com is doesn't state that the 4G is pre-orderable in an AT&T store and it only says Apple store. This is a problem for me since the nearest Apple store is 2 hours away.
So would I be able to pre-order at an AT&T store or what?

Again, sorry if these are stupid questions but I'm getting different info from different sources and am a bit confused.

Dial *639# and you will know your price for the phone.

You'll be able to pre order at AT&T as well I believe.
