ok well i updated my ram a bit ago to 4gb, before that i used to leave my laptop on sleep mode sometimes for days unplugged at times, noticing just a bit of battery consumption, but after the upgrade halve a day in sleep mode after being fully charged will leave it near 87%.... does the ram have to do with this?

Thanks

Yes, adding more RAM will contribute to less battery life, although I wouldn't think it would make a difference in sleep mode.

Adding ram will cause a little battery drain but it should be barely noticable.
you should also make sure that macbook is actually sleeping. is the sleep light on?

I beg your pardon

I really think that the RAM upgrade would INCREASE batt life, hence the computer will have to use the HDD as buffer less frequent.

Agreed - and adding RAM should not affect battery life while sleeping....

The RAM upgrade was a while ago - chances are it is just the age of the battery - how many cycles on it and health (%) ?
