I would like to upgrade the memory on my 4 year old emac - which currently has only 256 MB SDRAM. I have been told it will make it run faster and also make it possible to upgrade to leopard. Suggestions?

It really depends which emac you have. 2004 was a transition year for the eMac. I hope you have the more recent models as the older ones use PC133 RAM which will cost you nearly 3X as much as the more recent RAM. Most configs had 256 standard on the more recent models so I'll assume that's what you have.

Go to about this mac and tell me if it says PC133 or PC2700 under your chip.

I'm assuming you need this: http://www.crucial.com/store/listpa...chased after April 13, 2004)&pl=Apple&cat=RAM

Chip

I don't see either thing when I look under the about mac or the system profiler. It shows it is a powerpc g4 processor. Am I looking in the wrong place?
