upgrade to 10.5 on a G4/Sawtooth machine?

I have a MacPro, but use my old G4 as an office machine. I'd like to upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5 so I can use TimeMachine on it. It's a Sawtooth motherboard running 2GB of ram and a 1.2 Ghz processor upgrade in it.

My question is: will I see a performance decrease if I go from 10.4 to 10.5? It's still quite usable as is, but if it slows down any it'll become a boat anchor.

Should be OK.

I run Leopard on a Digital Audio Power Mac G4 and it's fine for light duties.

However a few things make all the difference on G4s:
1. Dual processors - mine is a dual 533MHz.
2. Fast hard drive e.g. 7200rpm.
3. Core Image & Quartz Extreme capable graphics card e.g. ATI Radeon 9600 Pro.
4. Adequate RAM, which you have.

Thanks for the reply drlunanerd. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128mb) so that should help.

It won't install anyways since the machine itself (sawtooth) didn't meet the minimum specs.
