Got an older Macbook Pro (2.1) which I used for developing for the iOS about a year ago. It's running 10.6 at the moment. Just started it up to try out some more iOS development and noticed I require 10.7 for the latest Xcode.

So I went online to try find it, but all I can find now is Mountain Lion which if I understand is not compatible with my hardware. Is there a way for me to upgrade from 10.6 to 10.7? Preferable with the AppStore.

I think the only way that you can download lion from the app store is if you are re-downloading it. Meaning, you access it through purchase history. I hope that's not the case though!

Read some of the comments and seems I'm stuck in the upgrade loop. I never purchased Lion as it wasn't needed before.

My Macbook Pro can run 10.7, but not 10.8 but there is no way for me to purchase 10.7.

I guess there is no way to get 10.7 by first purchasing 10.8, right?
