Hi all
In the UK and on o2. I had the original 1st gen iPhone on a contract from o2. I upgraded to a 3g on launch day and activated and swapped my sim over. My original iPhone was running 1.1.4. It was still working fine but obviosuly without any call, sms or edge features, wifi still worked fine as was able to send recieve emails etc.
Plugged it into itunes and then updated to 2.0 now it has got to the screen, no sim card installed , insert and unlocked and valid sim to activate the iphone.
Can i just swap my sim from my 3g phone to activate 1st gen to use as an ipod touch, then swap them back over and reactivate my 3g?
If this can be done, my gf has an orange sim, would i be able to unlock 2.0 on 1st gen iPhone for her to be able to use it?
Thanks
