Upgrade to 5.1.1

Sorry if this has been talked about before, I'm a noob to this stuff.


I have a jailbroken iPhone 4S running 5.0.1. I'd like to update to 5.1.1 and then re-jailbreak.

I've read a Cult of Mac article titled "How to jailbreak your iOS 5.1.1 Device with Absinthe the right way". I'm comfortable with everything on there. I've saved my SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella. I've backed up my phone to iCloud and backed up my cydia apps to Dropbox using pkgbackup.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to actually upgrade to 5.1.1. I tried OTA but I got an error. Then I connected to my computer and also got an error. I cannot figure out how restore and upgrade.

Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully my post makes sense.

2 use the restore option in Itunes
3 use the setup as new option
4 Jailbreak
5 restore from your back up
6 enjoy.

When I attempted to restore my iPhone using iTunes, I received an error and my phone was stuck in recovery mode. Thankfully TinyUmbrella was able to exit recovery mode or I would have a bricked iPhone.

Any other suggestions?
