I upgraded to Big Sur 11.1 Friday, after checking that is compatible with my iMac late-2014 5K Retina; however, what I did not see or realize was that it was NOT compatible with my Thunderbolt 27" display (Thunderbolt 2). Does anyone have a workaround or solution?

I've reset the NVRAM, PRAM and SMC to no avail.

After hours online with Apple support yesterday, they told me there's no solution other than to buy a new display and/or upgrade computer as a whole.... any suggestions?

Thanks MacBird: Based on my research, rolling back to Catalina will not solve the issue because apparently Big Sur 11.1 changes the firmware; and, unfortunately, I'm in a location where I cannot easily access an external hard drive large enough to back up my computer/system in event there's an issue... so, kind of stuck.

anyone else tried a roll back with success?

Maybe someone else can help, I remember reading that there were issues with some Thunderbolt adapters that simply wouldn't work anymore after updating to Big Sur.
