I have a 1 year old macbook and just recieved a new mac mini. Can i use the new OSX disk to upgrade the macbooks ilife only?

OS X does not have iLife.

yeah but if he bought a new Mac Mini it includes iLife 09.

The disk on my Boss' MacBook wasn't hardware specific for iLife and i used it to install on my Mac mini, and my MacBook, as well as my friend's Mac Pro

overall 09 is ugly and not worth it in my opinion. iMovie is like... just silly - garageband has buggy effects when importing - and face recognition barely works.

places is cool i guess.

Which, of course, is software piracy as iLife supplied with a new Mac is only licensed for use on that Mac.

Duff-Man says.....in addition to the other comments there is also the fact that *if* the install worked you would be violating the license agreement. This comes up at least once a week....having a disk or download does *not* entitle you to install anywhere or on as many computers as you like....please respect the license agreements.....oh yeah!
