So I'm running a 3gs on 3.2.1 jailbroken, but not unlocked.

If I upgrade to the latest iTunes, and ios4, what's the worst thing that'll happen?

Will I only lose my jb? Or do I risk bricking it?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Cheers

The worst that will happen is you lose your jailbreak. It's almost impossible to brick an iPhone

If you want to upgrade to iOS4, then you shouldn't brick the phone. You will lose the jailbreak. As far as I know, upgrading to the newest iTunes shouldn't hurt. But don't quote me on that!!! After iTunes 9.2 came out right before iOS4 was released, JB people said that the JB info & iTunes weren't playing nicely together. I saw a new 9.2 specific file that had to be used for JB phones (Spirit) with 9.2.

I guess the short answer is, if you love your jailbreak, don't upgrade.

theres a few threads here that explain how to install a jailbroken version of 4.0 - you might want to look into that if you truly want to stay that way.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I really only use the jb for mywi.

However lately, ive not been using it, so I thought I'd ask the question.

I guess I'll think about it, but really appreciate the responses :)

Cheers

I upgraded to the latest iTunes, but have yet to upgrde my iPhone to ios4.

iTunes still sees the phone fine though, so that answers 1 of my questions. I still have not decided to get ios4 though, so we'll see.

Ios4 may soon be in my future.
