upgrade to ios4 without upgrading baseband

Hello i have 3gs 3.1.3 bb=5.12.01 i want to upgrade to ios4 without upgrading my baseband can any one tell me how to do so?

I seem to remember you have the new bootrom and don't have a 3.1.2 SHSH.
If this is right you cannot pwn it , cannot maintain your BB and cannot JB iOS4

iphone dev team is going to release snow breeze for windows which will jailbreak ios4 and after jailbreaking i would be able to unlock it using ultra snow. should i do it?

i also have saved my SHSH file with cydia for 3.1.3

Sn0wbreeze is NOT made by the Dev-Team. And custom firmware files made with it or with PwnageTool will NOT work on a phone at 3.1.3 because such a phone cannot be pwned.

Restoring to 3.1.3 won't do you any good. The 3GS can only be pwned at 3.1.2 or lower. 3.1.3 can be jailbroken with Spirit, but Spirit does not pwn the bootloader so it is not possible to load unsigned firmware to a Spirit-ed phone.

Snowbreeze does not update the baseband. I would not use Snowbreeze, though. It's buggy and the author stole Dev-Team BSD-licensed code and made it proprietary. Not cool. See if you can get your hands on a Mac (or just a firmware made with PwnageTool 4.01).

i do have a mac but my backup is synced with PC. Im gonna read up on pwnge tool and try it out

So now what i am in no luck of saving my bootroom 5.12.01 if i want to go to ios4 as you said 3.1.3 cannot be pwned?and thanks for the link which you gave in your post it was very helpful

Yes, you are out of luck saving your BASEBAND of 5.12.01 as you cannot load a custom FW because you cannot PWN your phone.
New bootrom phones cannot be pwned fullstop.
 
Hei i have read that userland is going to release jb for ios4 shortly should i upgrade my 3gs unlocked on 3.1.3 to ios4 if that jb comes because apple has also announced to release ios4.0.1 shortly!can someone help because i keep on thinking about ios4 when i grab my 3gs:(:(

If you want to be able to use your iphone unlocked dont update.
You never know how long it will take to release and we dont even know if its even possible yet for that userland exploit to be used as a JB.
If you dont care about the JB or unlock go to official 4.0

If you are worried about apple updating to 4.01 before you can install 4.0 and JB it, save your 4.0 SHSH now.
