Upgrade to Leopard killed my function keys

I upgraded yesterday, and since then my key commands no longer work. If I restart, they will work for a little while, then suddenly stop working. I cannot take screen shots, or get Expose to work with F10, F12, etc.... Apple-Tab doesn't bring up the applications currently open, etc...

I've searched all over for this issue, but not finding anything.
On a Macbook Pro, upgraded from Tiger.

Thoughts?

A bunch of defaults changed in Leopard, which may be to blame. Check the Keyboard system preference pane, and fix your keyboard shortcuts if need be.

most people here suggest clean installation rather than upgrade. The tiny problems here and there are unpredictable and hard to diagnose.
