Hi,

I am interested in upgrading the CPU (motherboard) on a Xeon E5462 2.8 GHz (2x4) Mac Pro to the new Nehalem 2.93 processor. Can this be done? I contacted Apple and they suggested it could be but they don't. Any suggestions?

TIA,

This thread is in the wrong section but no you cant do it. The Harpertown Xeon E5462 is an LGA 771 socket processor and the Gainestown processors are LGA 1366 socket processors.
