Replacing my 2013 Mac Pro running Mojave with M1 Mac Mini running Monterey.
My question is: Should I update my Mac Pro to Monterey before migrating the apps and data to the new M1 Mac Mini?
I see one big change is that I will be going from my iPhotos app on the Mac Pro to Photos on the new Mac Mini.

If you are migrating from one computer, directly to the other computer through Ethernet or wifi, it “might” produce less problems to have both machines running the same OS. However, if you are using your own HDD or SSD on a back up time machine drive to do the migration files, then it doesn’t make any difference at all.

I would recommend using your time machine backup as the migration source.
