Upgrade to SSD HD in MBP, Partition benefits?

I'm thinking of getting this drive, and installing in my early08 15" mbp:

My friend told me to Partition the drive into 80gigs for the system and apps, then 160 for my work files.

Will this actually benefit me?

anyone use this drive?

will it fit, no problem in my HD slot?

That drive will fit your MBP no problem. I see no reason to have two partitions. Some people like a OS partition and a work partition, then only backup the work partition, but I don't see the point with OS X. Just backup your user folders and you have done the same thing.

Look in the MacBook Pro section and you will find many people using this SSD.
