is there an upgrade version of mac os x? like with adobe stuff you can bring in your photoshop cd or serial or something and they give your a discount on the next version. does anyone know if apple does this with the OS?

(college student budget)

the upgrade thing is all in one version from what i have understood. So, you will be paying one price for an upgrade or a full version.

Duff-Man says....the only OS X "upgrades" are through the up-to-date program, which basically only ever applies to copies bought (or computers shipped with copies) of the "old" OS after the announcement of the official shipping date of the new version. For example, if on March 24 Apple announces that 10.4 ships on April 24, then people that buy 10.3 or buy a Mac with 10.3 preloaded on or after April can get 10.4 for just the cost of shipping and handling - traditionally $19.95. Now, all that is based on past experience...they have not said anything official about 10.4 upgrades but it is probably safe to assume it will probably be the same....oh yeah!

hmm, now im curious .... with these upgrade versions lets say you decide to or have to reinstall OS X will this upgrade version function as a full? or will you have to install the previous version of OS X then upgrade?

so... duffman... do you know when tiger was announced officially?
Duff-Man says....the shipping date for Tiger has *not* been officially announced yet, so there is no up-to-date program for Tiger yet....oh yeah!
