Hey, I am stuck between choosing the next iMac 27" that comes out or upgrading my current MacPro early 2008. I only have 4GB of ram in my Mac Pro, 8800GTS 512mb, 2 x quad core 2.8ghz xeons, and a tiny crap display.

If I upgraded the Mac Pro I would push it to 12+GB of ram (very expensive for mac pro 2008 model), new video card 5870, 3G SSD w/bracket and a 27" Apple display or Dell ultrasharp.

the iMac would be maxed out completely the 27" version.

I use the computer for, photoshop painting, painter painting, a little bit of 3d (nothing intense) in modo and cinema4d.

I would buy a new iMac when that comes out. You would have the newest processor which would help tremendously, and the iMac's are getting close to the Mac Pro speed.
