Kind of proud of myself, couldn’t upgrade from High Sierra to save my life, googled for hours, found some obscure site that advised me to look in applications for the Mojave installer & to delete a list file....it worked! Blew the system out with compressed air, cleaned case, screen & keyboard, going to order thermal paste for the cpu next.

The system is running in a mannerly fashion, case & keyboard look brand new, with a new application of thermal paste I can wait for the next MBP release, hoping we get MagSafe and more ports!

Congratulations. I did the same thing over a year ago I think. Mojave is great. Also, changing the thermal paste is very easy as well.

After reading a bit I figured Mojave was as far as I wanted to take this system, 8mb ram/ 256 mb SSD, I had done some work on my 2011 macbook air so wasn’t afraid to crack the case on this one. The thermal paste looks like a straightforward thing to do after watching a couple YouTube video. This system has been great, I got it on sale & don’t consider buying a replacement with less ports & no MagSafe to be an “ upgrade” :)
