Started an update to 15.7 which didn't finish, just hung about 30% done, tried to reboot, and stuck in a boot loop.
Did an internet OS recovery and 15.7 was installed again, but the User that the upgrade failed on is gone. I can see the user and user folders in the finder, but the user itself does not show up anywhere to be able to login.
Tried:
dscl . -list /Users
dscl . -list /Users IsHidden 1 | cut -f 1 -d' '
I have a Time Machine backup, but I assume the only way I can access that is to create the missing user account again?
Intel 2018 Mac Mini.
EDIT: I created a new user account using the same name and the user that was gone, so I have access to the files and folders again, but it seems all the settings were lost.
And all the old folders are not linked to the new account, despite the user name being the same.
Do I create new symlinks?
