Upgraded to M Lion ... Do I have Multiple App folders now ?

I just upgraded to ML and in Finder I can see my applications but inside the apps folder there is another Applications folder andApplications Copy 1 folder and Applications Copy 2 folder ... if i go into these they have the full set of apps and I can keep going down levels ...

can I safely delete the Applications copy folders and why would they have been created ?

They may have been there before the upgrade but I didn't notice them ..

any help welcomed

I don't know the answer, but I suspect the multiple copies of the Applications folder is the result of the way you did the upgrade. Perhaps if you can provide some details about that, someone can help.
