2017 27" 5K. Just upgraded to Mojave. Had 2 16 GB Crucial and 2 4GB Apple stock RAM sticks on board. Before upgrade the 2 4GB were visible for a total of 40 GB RAM.

Post upgrade, 4 GB sticks are not shown.

Anyone ever see this and familiar?

Also, any issues with upgrading those missing 4GB to 16 GB from OWC since I have Crucial on board already? Do they play nice together?

DIdn't try, did not want to remove the 16's before seeing if others had seen similar issues.

Car has a flat tire...

Roadside assistance: “Did you replace it with the spare?”

Driver: “No. before doing that I wanted to ask the internet if anyone else has had similar issues.”

Not quite the same especially since earlier today prior to Mojave being installed the 2 4 GB sticks appeared.

So, rather than disconnect everything, open it up, reseat the sticks, pull out the 16's and run through all that perhaps it might be best to check and see if others have seen this odd issue themselves.

You said the 4GB sticks are not shown. Not shown where? In About this Mac? In System Information?

Have you run Apple Hardware Test?

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257

Correct. Via the About this Mac they are no longer shown and the total GB sits at 32. FIgure there was some issue with the 4's and the 16's working together in Mojave and there might be a quick fix that some who have gone down that road are aware of, hence the post. I will run the hardware test and see what I can find. Thanks

As others have said, remove the OWC RAM and see if the original RAM is then recognized.

Alternative course of action:
RE-ARRANGE the RAM.

If you have the slots currently set up with
1 - 4gb
2 - 4gb
3 - 16gb
4 - 16gb

You might try instead
1 - 4gb
2 - 16gb
3 - 4gb
4 - 16gb

Having said that, there might just be some very small (yet still important) irregularity between the factory RAM and the OWC RAM that the OS is now "discovering" and objecting to (pure speculation only).

OWC ram is the most compatible I have ever used as long as you bought the right sticks for your device. Perhaps the sticks are just improperly paired.

Thanks all. It's Crucial. not OWC but same story applies. Just odd that propr to Mojave update it shows all 4 sticks, post update it does not. Will disconnect and start testing.
