So Im using an iPhone 4 (originally on 4.3.5) and with all the iOS 5 hype I upgraded without considering the fact that my iPhone is unlocked using the Gevey sim. Now I'm stuck.
I didn't save any SHSH blobs or watever before upgrading.
Any hope for me? Or am I doomed? :(

You're doomed.

has apple stopped signing 4.3.5? if not you might be lucky. Download and do a shift/restore with the 4.3.5 ispw, iclarified has a list of locations here if apple are still signing 4.3.5 and its baseband it should install the earlier one.

If they have stopped signing 4.3.5 then your stuck.

re gervey

yes you can i did the same all you need to do is
roll back put your phone in dfu mode
then restore press shift and load 4.3.5 ispw phone restores back with old baseband only while apple are still signing software i googled full instructions
then i used sn0wbreeze to make a i05 modded ispw restored using that now i have a fully jailbroken iphone 4 on i05 and an unlocked through gevey sim
sn0wbreeze keeps your baseband

I upgraded to iOS5, but wanna get back to 4.3.5 and not upgrade to iOS5 again.

Quick Download the iOS 4.3.5 before apple stops "signing" it. Look in the above replies Anthdci provides a link to all the iOS'.
Then download redsn0w put ur phone in pwnd dfu mode & install the iOS with iTunes.
I suggest looking up videos on how to use the new redsn0w before attempting to downgrade.
GL!

Can you kindly elaborate on this?

Did you ever encounter error 3194? What iTunes version did you use? Did you edit the hosts file?

You did not have SHSH blobs and used stock 4.3.5 for restore, right? Device is not jailbroken, uses a Gevey SIM.

Nrod451, do you use a PC or a MAC? I ask because I use a PC.

EDIT: I downgraded (at least I think so, to 4.3.5) using iTunes 10.4 but it is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon + USB cable)

Do I need a proper custom firmware? I already tried twice with the stock 4.3.5 and it ends up in endless recovery mode.

I'm currently on the emergency/SOS screen. Does that mean I successfully downgraded and just need to activate using carrier sim?

EDIT: Successfully downgraded to 4.3.5!
