Upgrading 6S to 8 - iOS question

I have a 6S running 10.3.2 and I just got my new iPhone 8. I have backed up my 6S and I am ready to set up my iPhone 8 from my backup. I am at work and the wifi here really sucks. Updating the iOS on the 6S would take a long time just to download the update. My question is, can I set up my iPhone 8 from the backup of my iPhone 6S without first upgrading my iPhone 6S (and its backup) to iOS 11.0?

(This is actually my boss' phone - not mine. I of course have iOS 11.0 and I am awaiting the iPhone X.)

Of course. I wouldn’t be surprised if iOS 11 still supports restoring from an iOS 5 iCloud backup.
