Upgrading a Clamshell

I recently acquired a 300MHz FireWire iBook G3 Clamshell (for free!). Right now, it has OS 9.0.4, but I'd like to maybe put 10.2 or 3 on it, and upgrade the memory if necessary. What version of OS X runs best on a Clamshell? It only has 64MB RAM, so would it need to be upgraded to run Jaguar or Panther? Also, how hard would it be to add an AirPort wireless card?
