Hey, so I’m running Snow Leopard, but I’m helping my dad’s friend upgrade her machine, and next week we’re gonna be upgrading from Panther to Leopard. I usually clean install, but she’s a very basic user and asking her to set everything up again would probably overwhelm her, so I’m just going to do a straight up 10.3->10.5 upgrade. Should I expect any quirks or things that may not work from that upgrade, especially since I’m skipping Tiger?

As long as the disc is at least 10.5.1, you will avoid the password problem when upgrading from earlier versions.

Make sure you don't have the APE library installed on your computer.

You can start with Option A, starting at step 2 "then open the System folder," and stop after completing step 4.

I’m pretty sure it’s a 10.5.6 disc. And I would be very surprised if she had the APE library installed. So I guess we’re in the clear! Thanks!
