Upgrading a JailBroken iPhone 3G

Hello,

I would like to update to my iPhone (MB500X) 3g to 4.0.1 (JailBroken through JailBreakMe.com)
-I have downloaded the file "iPhone1,2_4.0.1_8A306_Restore.ipsw"
-I have Itune 101.1.4 on my PC Windows XP Sp2
-I have Cydia and OpenSSH.
-I currently have 3.1.2 (7D11)
-I do NOT have a sim card inserted.

When I try to update it after few minutes I have an error 3194 from iTunes seding me to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275

Please advice and help.

I'm not sure why you'd want to run 4.0.1 on a 3G, because it's slower than pitch. If you don't have a SIM, you won't be able to use jailbreakme.com. It doesn't hacktivate, AFAIK.
Also, I can't remember if you need blobs for 4.0.1. I know you don't need blobs to install either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3.
Assuming you don't need the blobs, go to iclarified for a tutorial.

Yeah I just find out that 4.0.1 will slow it down.
I think the phone is not simlock, I was able to use a foreign simcard.
First time I JB it, I did it through jailbreakme.com over Wifi
