I'm look to buy a used Macbook Air and am under the impression that recent models are NOT able to have the memory or SSD upgraded. True??

If so, what is the latest year and model that has user upgradable memory and SSD's?

Thanks for your help and feedback.

No MacBook Air has upgradable memory. Any of the models prior to the 2018 can have upgraded SSDs installed, but you'll need an adapter to make them work. None of them use standard SSDs. The 2018 Air is not upgradable whatsoever.

Thanks for that info. Didn’t realize memory wasn’t upgradable. I’ve put SSD’s in a couple of iMacs. I assume surgery on a MacBook isn’t any harder?

You will just need a P5 pentalobe and T5 torx screwdriver to open up the bottom of the case and install the new NVMe SSD drive with the Sintech adapter.
