I have a PowerBook G4; 1.0 GHz; 1 GB RAM; 80GB HD.

it currently is running OS X 10.4.11 I would like to upgrade to 10.5 or 10.6 because my Ipad requires 10.5 or higher.

Any ideas on how to even find a copy of 10.5 or if I can upgrade my G4 to a pentium processor so 10.6 will work.

yes your correct I just purchased a mac for the first time, I have always wanted one but I wanted to start cheap and work my way up. I have always been a Windows guy but recently I have a lot of apple products in my home and thought I could benefit from converting over.

Any help is appreciated keeping in mind a limited budget.:)

To find out how much RAM you can put in and what type you need, find your Powerbook G4 model on this page then click to see the full specs.

The best place to buy RAM in my opinion is amazon. Recently performed an upgrade on my Macbook and got a new 2GB stick for £27.50 which is 43 dollars, so it was pretty cheap.
