I jailbroke my iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 using the Spirit, it worked like a charm.

I have a question which is what happens when I upgrade to the next version of OS when it comes out, either 3.1.4 or 4 OS. Will it not upgrade or will the jailbreak be gone and will it cause my iPhone any damage?

Thanks in advance.

Don't upgrade if you want to keep your iPhone in a jailbroken state. Wait for the Dev community to say that it works and then follow the instructions they give.

and no it doesn't cause any damage to you iPhone.

So what happens if I do choose to upgrade?

In other words, you will be in Jailbreak hell. And if a tool isn't released, you've screwed yourself.

Well I don't really want a jailbroken phone no more, but if I upgrade it will be fine right, just that I can't jailbreak again until a new version is released.
