Hey guys,

I recently ordered a 2015 MBPr 13 inch with 8 gb ram and the 256 ssd. I'm upgrading from the 2011 white unibody Macbook. I don't even know the specs of my old machine, but I think it's only 2 gb of ram or something.

With that, what can I expect with a new machine? Any tips for setting up the new machine? Any required apps? Thanks

What you can expect - a blazing fast machine that will have no problem handling what you throw at it. If you came from an hdd, then the difference will be night and day.

Setting it up - just back up your current machine via time machine and then restore it onto the new machine.

Required apps - see what others have recommend by searching.

Thanks! I'm planning on transferring all my music and photos from my iPhone onto the machine, however I don't want to get a backup from my old machine. There was a lot of junk on there so I'm looking forward to starting fresh
