I have a late Oct 2008 15" mbp.

Got myself an Intel 80gb ssd.
My current partition takes up 80gb exactly. So I'm planning on moving 20Gb+ of my iTunes contents to an external hdd or expresscard ssd.
I have a TimeMachine backup hdd as well.

I realised that there are 2 routes of transferring the data. 1 is to Carbon Copy, clone, the other is by using the TimeMachine.

1)If I install a fresh MacOS, while using the migration assistant, would I get a cleaner HDD, with more space? I'm not sure what options there are while using the migration assistant.

2)Is there anything I need to 'disable' for the SSD use? Like the hdd antishock system?

3)I'm using a May production Intel SSD, do I still need to update the firmware?

Please advice, thanks. :)
