Upgrading from a 2007 iMac to either MacBook Pro or iMac i7... benchmarks required

Hello, from a long time lurker first time poster!

I currently own an iMac7,1:
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB DDR Ram
ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT (128 MB)
Screen size 20" /Resolution 1680 x 1050

I will be using it for Adobe After Effects CS5, Lightroom 2 and Final Cut Pro (workflow will include a Canon T2i/550d)

The machine I currently have really doesn't cut the mustard now I'm trying to work with HD footage, and After Effects is a complete nightmare/sluggish!

I understand the iMac i7 is a speed demon, however I'm not sure if I'm moving this Summer, I love to use a laptop and the advantages include being able to show clients my work. BUT, realistically how much speed difference will I see with MacBook Pro i7 / iMac i7 compared to each other and the iMac I currently use.

Doesn't look like they have the Mid 2010 line of MacBooks Pro listed yet, though. I'd post a benchmark myself, but I'm running a 13".
