Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion

I am planning on upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. So, when I download it from the app store, will it also include everything else from Lion? Just wondering if I have to download Lion first and then Mountain Lion.
 
It's an independent operating system from lion. You wont need anything in relation to lion
