Hey guys,

I'm upgrading my mac's hard drive to 500 GB today, but realized the only CD's I have is the CD for Snow Leopard, will this work for installing the OS? I have my data itself backed up on time machine.

Also, are there CD keys for snow leopard? because I cant seem to find it, and cant remember if there is or not.

Thanks lots!!

Josh

Is the Snow Leopard CD the one that came with the computer when you got it? When I upgraded my hard drive, I did a cold install using that CD, downloaded every OS X update as obviously the CD isnt completely current, and then used the Migration Assistant for everything else and it all worked pretty well.

That will work fine, just boot from the disk, then format the new hard drive to HFS+, then attach your time machine and restore.
