Upgrading hard drive

hey guys just wondering but when do you think 3rd party developers will mak larger hard drives for us to have say a 30 gig ipt? obviously we will have to crack open our touch but you know

or will this never happen?

Seriously, search before you post.
Maybe you would have discovered that the iPod Touch does not have a hard drive in it.
It is a flash chip.

The answer to your question is no.

did you know that the storage medium is flash?
cant just pop it open and solder on some more flash chips...where would they go? suppose in theory you could de-solder and re-solder some larger capacity chips, but come on
by the time they release a 32 or 64 gb touch yours will have lousy battery capacity anyhow, and the lcd may be on its way towards death, so you might as well just plan on buying a new one a few years from now.

aha if there were a hdd the thing would be a lot thicker....thanks to the flash memory the IPT can be 8mm thin, and so can future models...
