Hi,

I'm about to put an SSD drive in my MBP, and just want to make sure that I can format and install OS X on it after replacing the old hd? I mean, I can just put the SSD straight from the box into the MBP and expect to get everything up and running? Since it is a fairly complicated procedure I prefer to be sure that I won't run into any problems.

Thanks!

Yes. Of course, the first thing to do is always boot from the install DVD and actually format the drive and install the system.

Put the Install disk and after you hear the chime, hold the "C" key until you see the Apple logo. You will have an option to enter the Disk Utilities.

You will love the SSD.
