Hi,

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G with 3.0 IOS, with modem firmware 04.26.08. The phone was originally locked to O2/UK. I unlocked and used it with the help of RedSn0w for a year, and then unlocked it officially with the help of O2. I haven't restored it since then, but it is now working without the "RedSn0w" installed.

Because of the new applications requiring higher IOS versions, I need to upgrade it to 4.x.

What is the best way to upgrade my 3G ?
The instructions "http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12949" seems to be fine, but I am confused about the modem firmware issue. Should I follow the instructions and upgrade my modem firmware to 06.15 ?

Regards.
