Upgrading iPhone 3Gs to 4s online

Hi everyone,
I bought a new iPhone 4s today on the Apple store online. I am having it shipped to me, and I was wondering what will happen to my 3Gs, or when will the new iPhone 4s become active. Will I have to do anything to activate it? Thanks!

When you get your 4S make sure you backup your 3GS then activate your 4S and you should be good.

There should be instructions that come in the box. Like the last post mentioned, make sure you do an iCloud backup on your 3GS before activating your new phone. Once your new phone is activated it will prompt you to set up iCloud and do a restore.
