Upgrading mac OS on 2014 Macbook Pro Retina 15"

Hi there.

My MBR 15" (without GPU) 2014 runs mac OS Catalina and there isn't any further update available. I have three questions:

1. What's the maximum OS version I can update to through official Apple Channel on this device?
2. Can I upgrade my OS somehow to the latest available mac OS? (like we install Windows 11 on an old PC through bios etc)
3. If answer to above question is YES, then what would be the impact on the performance? It has 16 GB memory and 256 GB SSD if that matters.
