I bought a new hdd for my macbook pro (bigger and faster than my current one) I also ordered an external enclosure.

My plan was to use carbon copy cloner to backup my current hdd onto my new one replace them and boot up. Unfortunately i've been send an IDE enclosure

so my plan was: Mac a carbon copy onto one of my other external hard drives, upgrade my internal with the new one. Boot up from the external then carbon copy it back over.

Good idea?
